Choosing the right attorney to handle your Social Security disability appeal is critical, but the success of your appeal also requires a lot of behind-the-scenes support.  The organization of the firm is designed for accuracy and expediency, with teams focused on distinct stages of the appeal and preparation process.

Intake Team

The first team to handle your case in the office opens your file, files your appeal, submits all required documents and follows up to confirm proper filings. This focus requires frequent contact with local Social Security branches, which has fostered a strong familiarity with the local personnel and procedures. Our Intake Team knows who to contact and what to do to resolve issues quickly, if one should arise.

Medical Records Team

This team reviews your file to determine which medical facilities will be contacted for your medical records, orders the records, follows up on all requests, prepares the records and submits them to the judge’s office. Similarly to the Intake Team, this focus requires frequent contact with the medical facilities, which has fostered a strong familiarity with the personnel and procedures. The Medical Records Team knows who to contact and what to do to resolve issues quickly, if one should arise.

Point Person Team

The Point Person Team oversees and coordinates the overall preparation of your file. Each attorney has a designated Point Person with whom he/she works very closely. The Point Person ensures all the appropriate records are ordered, received and submitted timely; organizes the content of your file; corresponds with the judge’s office; addresses special circumstances that may arise; and communicates with you when necessary. In a nutshell, the Point Person works directly with your attorney and is your attorney’s Right Hand Man. If you have an urgent issue, but your attorney is out of the office for hearings or appointments, you can ask for the Point Person and trust that the matter will be brought to your attorney’s attention and handled. In many situations, the Point Person will be just as knowledgeable about the status of your case as your attorney.

Attorney Team

The Attorney Team consists of all the attorneys in the firm. Although you retain only one attorney, ultimately, any attorney in the firm can assist you in many matters. With the number of hearings being scheduled and other personal matters, it’s not unusual for any given attorney to be out of the office for a few days. When this happens, the Attorney Team comes together to take care of urgent matters, or even just a return phone call.

Your Attorney’s Team

Your Attorney’s Team is comprised of a member of the Medical Records Team, Point Person Team and Attorney Team. This distinction means that the same team members will be working on the same files, which translates to a higher level of familiarity with specific cases from the start of the process to the end. The team members also become more familiar with each other, resulting in Your Attorney’s Team running like a finely-tuned machine.
